Pheasant Fest’s New Addition for the Wingshooter: The Gun Counter

Pheasants Forever announces “The Gun Counter” as the newest addition to upcomingNational Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic presented by Cabela’s. The event comes to the Minneapolis Convention Center on February 15, 16 and 17th.  This portion of the show is an all-encompassing forum to learn more about the tools which bird hunters use in the field.

“Most of our members’ commitment to wildlife habitat conservation originates in their passion for bird hunting.  The new Gun Counter segment of Pheasant Fest allows avid bird hunters and gear junkies to learn about the wide array of shotguns, ammo and gear from the most well-known manufacturers in the hunting industry,” says Brad Heidel, Pheasants Forever director of corporate sales.

New Upland Product Lines: Manufacturers like Browning/Winchester Firearms, Federal Premium Ammunition, and Winchester Ammunition will be giving seminars on the companies’ newest innovations and product lines. Following seminars, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in Q&A with manufacturers.

Classic Double Guns: Representing the long history of American double gun manufacturing, the Parker and L.C. Smith Gun Collectors Associations will be present and giving seminars on these two classic American firearms.

Improve Your Wingshooting: Throughout the weekend, seminars on how to refine and improve your upland shooting skills will be presented by expert wingshooters Tom Fiumarello & Patrick Flanigan.

Pheasants Forever launched Quail Forever in August of 2005 to address the continuing loss of habitat suitable for quail and the subsequent quail population decline. Bobwhite population losses over the last 25 years range from 60 to 90 percent across the country. The reason for the quail population plunge is simple - massive losses of habitat suitable for quail. There are five major factors leading to the losses of quail habitat; intensified farming and forestry practices, succession of grassland ecosystems to forests, overwhelming presence of exotic grasses like fescue that choke out wildlife, and urban sprawl.
