The Association of Collegiate Anglers has announced that Freedom Tackle Corp. is the newest sponsor to join the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. Freedom Tackle Corp. offers an innovative line of jigs, which feature an exclusive interchangeable hook design. As part of the sponsorship, Freedom Tackle Corp. will be offering a $500 Big Bass Bounty, which will be paid to any collegiate angler who claims Big Bass honors in the 2013 Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events on a Freedom Live Action Hybrid jig.

Freedom Tackle Corp. currently offers four different head designs, each specific to different techniques. The Hydra is the ultimate swimbait head, allowing anglers to change bait colors, sizes, or styles without having to re-tie or look for a different jig head. The Stealth is designed as a more traditional skirted swim jig offering, yet brings the same benefits of the interchangeable hook design. The Rogue allows an angler to crawl baits on the bottom similar to a football jig and create unmatched amplified sound, yet it can be used on any soft plastic lure. The final product, the Zodiac (“shakey head”), is also designed for bottom contact, but available in smaller sizes for finesse applications as well as live bait rigging techniques.

According to Danny Blandford, Program Director for the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, “We’re pleased to welcome Freedom Tackle Corp. to our family of sponsors and we look forward to exposing collegiate anglers everywhere to their innovative products. Although there are lots of jig heads out there, none feature the action or the benefits of the interchangeable hook design. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see Freedom Live Action Hybrid jigs play a big part in the successes of some of our competitors this year.”

Michael Tamburro of Freedom Tackle Corp. added, “We feel like our products are the future of fishing and getting involved with today’s youth is a top priority for our team. The students competing in the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series are a perfect fit for us. We love the enthusiasm that comes with these young anglers and their willingness to try new products like ours in the hope of creating their own magic bullet. We’d love nothing more than to see our products contribute to Big Bass honors in all three Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series events in 2013.”
