Minn Kota Renews Partnership with Texas Team Trail Presented by Cabela’s

Popular Bass Fishing Trail to Kick-Off 2013 Season in March

Minn Kota, the world’s leading manufacturer of electric trolling motors, remains an official sponsor of the Texas Team Trail (TXTT) presented by Cabela’s in 2013. The renewal comes as the Texas Team Trail and Minn Kota look to build upon a successful inaugural season.

“We’re so fortunate to have the support of a brand like Minn Kota,” said Mike Hastings, TXTT Tournament Director. “Their name is synonymous with quality and so many TXTT anglers utilize their products. We’re proud to partner with them and look forward to growing the relationship for years to come.”

Minn Kota offers a complete line of shallow water anchors, battery chargers, and marine accessories in addition to their well-known trolling motor designs.

The Minn Kota electric trolling motor began its life in 1934 in Fargo, N. D. Inventor O. G. Schmidt was known to be a man of many diverse ideas. Prior to the trolling motor, Schmidt invented, produced and sold a copper-soldering torch from his home in Wheatland, N. D.

Due to its success, manufacturing operations were then moved to Fargo. Because of its proximity to the MINNesota – North DaKOTA border, Schmidt named the business The Minn Kota Manufacturing Company.

Since its founding, Minn Kota has led the way in product innovation and cutting-edge technology.

“The Texas Team Trail represents a great opportunity to support our customers in and around the state of Texas,” said Minn Kota Marketing Director Joe Brown. “But even more importantly, we strive to support competitive fishing at all levels. The Texas Team Trail format, payout structure and sponsor incentives are incredible. We’re excited to be back on board for 2013.”

The tournament circuit, designed exclusively for team competition, kicks off the 2013 season on March 2 at Sam Rayburn Lake. The schedule includes four qualifying events, plus a year-end championship on legendary Falcon Lake, October 12-13. Registration for the Sam Rayburn event is already underway. Anglers can secure an opportunity to pre-fish Friday, March 1, by completing their registration online, via phone or stopping by Needmore Tackle and registering prior to midnight on Thursday.

On-site registration begins Friday, March 1, from 5-8 p.m. at Umphrey Pavilion on Sam Rayburn Lake. At least one team member is required to attend. The tournament launches Saturday, March 2, at safe light from Umphrey Pavilion, and weigh-in begins at the same location at 3 p.m. Anglers with questions or anyone interested in more details on the event are encouraged to visit www.texasteamtrail.com or call 210-788-4143.
