Wildlife Forever is pleased to announce the 2012-2013 State-Fish Art Title Sponsor, GenOn, has merged with NRG Energy creating the nation’s largest competitive power generator. NRG is the new energy behind Wildlife Forever’s signature youth conservation education program now celebrating its 15th Anniversary.
“NRG Energy is proud to make Wildlife Forever’s State-Fish Art Contest part of our commitment to education and the environment,” said Walter Stone, Vice President of Environment for NRG. “Fish Art is an imaginative introduction of art and science for our nation’s youth designed to increase awareness of and respect for our aquatic resources across the nation. As national sponsor of the State-Fish Art program, NRG can help foster interest and enthusiasm about fish and water for our next generation.”
“Expanding our relationship with GenOn to NRG Energy allows us to continue to reach more educators and children as the contest enters its 15th year,” said Douglas Grann, President & CEO of Wildlife Forever. “We are grateful for NRG’s enthusiasm and dedication to this goal, which will provide support to State-Fish Art, making resources available to increase participation nationwide and generate the spark of conservation in our youth, the future stewards of our fish and waters.”
