Mississippi Shotgun Classes Now Available

The MDWFP Education and Outreach Department will continue to offer Intermediate and Advanced Shotgunning classes to our Mississippi hunters through the winter months at the Turcotte Education Center as well as other selected venues. The classes feature insights into connecting with moving targets in the field. Be sure to take advantage of these free of charge instructional gatherings which address subject matter that is only taught by professionalsfor feesin other states. Classes are held on Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately 12:30 p.m.  Consult the MDWFP website for one that fits your schedule.

Beginning shotgunners are welcome here, (age limit 12 and above), as well as experienced shooters who are having difficulty with specific shots. This is a stress-free class with instructors who will not only give you the information you need to avoid missing, but also call your shots for you when you do. This personalized instruction will take years off your learning curve and save shooters a great deal of money by explaining exactly where the shot was placed in relation to the moving target, and what you need to do to correct the problem.

We offer hot coffee, cold drinks and some munchies to help you through our in-class time. Our instructors have been on hunts throughout the world and have the photos to back them up, plus these men have won lots of tournaments, so the person looking over your shoulder will be giving you the individual attention that we’d all like to have. Don’t miss this opportunity to strengthen the Marksmanship skills of our Mississippi hunters.
