Western Virginia Sports Show February 22-24 Features TV Celebs, More

The 26th Annual Western Virginia Sport Show will be held February 22-24, 2013, at Augusta Expoland in Fishersville, Virginia (I-64, exit #91). Known as “The Show Where the Pro’s Go”, whatever you enjoy in the great outdoors, this annual time-tested event is sure to meet that need. It continues to be a unique world-class event for the entire family and any serious outdoor enthusiasts. This show consistently continues to feature more big names and attractions than any other show in the region and this year is no exception!

Jep and Jessica Robertson, stars in the popular reality TV show Duck Dynasty on the A&E network will appear Saturday and Sunday for photo ops and autograph signings. Jep also films and stars on “The Duck Commander” with his Dad Phil and brother Willie. Duck Dynasty is one of the most popular reality TV shows due to its down home faith and family values, respect for the great outdoors, hi jinx and unforgettable cast of characters. HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY!

Have you ever seen a grizzly bear up close? Welde’s Big Bear Show Grizzlies who appear on live TV shows, commercials and special events throughout North America, are returning by popular demand featuring 6 different bears. Other hunting and fishing celebrities including Stan Potts, host of the new Mathews’ Dominant Bucks on Outdoor Channel and North American Whitetail on Sportsman Channel; Jim Zumbo, a 40-year veteran outdoor writer and photographer; Blaine Mengel, pro fishing guide featured on The Backwoods Angler TV and National Champion Turkey Caller and home town favorite,Lance Hanger and Paul Butski will demonstrate their winning techniques and give tips on hunting a big gobbler this Spring. Howard and Jason Caldwell will demonstrate their “Raptors Up Close” Falconry program for conservation education of these fascinating birds of prey. Nationally acclaimed artists including Shenandoah Valley natives Ken Schulerand Lisa Geiman and Pennsylvania Duck Stamp artist Gerry Putt will exhibit their artwork.

See Virginia’s largest big game display – an extraordinary collection of animals from throughout North America and Africa, Christian Bowhunters 3-D shooting range, the VA Waterfowlers Association Traveling Duck Blind, Parker Bows Test Shooting Range, Annual Big Buck Contest, Virginia State Championship Open Turkey Calling Contest, indoor trout fishing tank, and South River Taxidermy’s display featuring the top 10 whitetail mounts in the world. In addition, spectators can enjoy free seminars from the pros throughout the weekend.
