Maryland’s Elk Neck State Forest to Close Gun Ranges Mondays in March

Elk Neck State Forest staff will be closing the rifle, pistol and shotgun ranges on Mondays in March (March 4, 11, 18 and 25) to repair safety baffles damaged by a recent fire. The ranges may open sooner if the work is completed ahead of schedule.

Also affected, the Pete Bond Hiking Trail and Scenic Overlook, were closed indefinitely earlier in the week. Other than the dates listed, all ranges will be open during normally scheduled hours. Citizens may call the Forest Office at 410-287-5675 for updates.
