Hunter Education Classes have been scheduled for a number of communities in northwest Montana. All hunter education classes are free of charge. By state law, anyone born after January 1, 1985, must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. To become certified, students must be at least 11 years old.
All students must register online (Register online at fwp.mt.gov, click education) for the following courses. When registering, students will note specific information and guidelines for the course included in the online posting.
All students must register online (Register online at fwp.mt.gov, click education). Mandatory orientation for all students and parents is Tuesday, April 9, 3:30-5 p.m. at the Somers Middle School. Classes held 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Somers Middle School on April 22, 23, 24, 25; field course is Saturday, April 27: Test is April 29, 3:30-5:30. Call Wes Plummer at 752-2846, or 250-3437.

Special Instructions for All Students: (Register online at fwp.mt.gov, click education) Students must sign up online or at Orientation night on the 14th of March, Students 18 and older can take the class online but must attend Field Day on March 23.March 14th Parents/Guardian MUST accompany students. Books will be handed out and objectives set.March 21th will be first day of instruction and the books MUST be completed before class. Regular instruction will be the 22nd, The 23rd will be Required Field day. Instruction night again on the 25th. The 27th will be our review and written exam. ALL CLASSES and FIELD DAY, ATTENDENCE IS REQUIRED. Adult students are welcome. Schedule summarized below:
