Miculek Takes Another ESR at 2013 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals

Once again the world’s greatest wheelgun shooter took home the Enhanced Service Revolver title at the International Defensive Pistol Association’s (IDPA) 2013 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship as Jerry Miculek of Team Smith & Wesson topped the division with a blistering time of 215.47 shooting just 55 points down.

Miculek, who is ranked a Distinguished Master in the ESR division – IDPA’s highest skill classification – has won this title several times including every year since 2007.

“Well beyond Jerry’s extraordinary ability with a revolver, or with any firearm for that matter, it’s his wonderful personality, humor and southern charm that has endeared him to so many shooters. It is always a great pleasure to watch Jerry in action on an IDPA range, shooting and of course winning,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Finishing second overall behind Miculek was Brian Gonsalves who finished first Expert with a time of 291.79 and 65 points down. Gregg Kratochvil placed third overall and finished first Master with 298.49 (78). Warren Baker, another ESR Master, finished fourth overall with 335.24 (129) followed by T.J. Milam who took first Sharpshooter with 341.61 (127), Sean Cheney, another ESR Sharpshooter, with 345.68 (137), and Andrew Macgray who took first Marksman with 391.56 (131).

The 2013 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship took place February 21-23 at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Mass., drawing many of the shooting sports’ top pistol shooters from 28 states, one U.S. territory and three foreign nations.
