Hunters and anglers from southeast Colorado selected John Thatcher of Pueblo and Bruce Hutcheon of Colorado Springs as delegates for Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Sportsmen’s Roundtable. Dan Gates of Canon City was selected as the alternate delegate.
Sportsmen from around the region gathered in Colorado Springs at the SE Region Caucus February 28. Thatcher and Hutcheon will join 22 other delegates on a statewide sportsman’s group formed to discuss hunting and fishing issues.
The Colorado Sportsmens Roundtable will meet twice a year to share input and ideas from Colorados hunters and anglers with Colorado Parks and Wildlife Director Rick Cables. Agency officials said they hope the group will provide a forum for identifying ways to protect fish, wildlife and habitat; while preserving Colorados hunting and fishing heritage.
