Lady Bass Anglers Association Pro Tour Hits the Waters of Neely Henry in Alabama

The Lady Bass Anglers Association (LBAA), launched their first stop of the season on the waters of Alabama’s Lake Neely Henry this morning at safe light.  Top pros Pam Martin-Wells, Kim Bain-Moore, and 2012 LBAA Classic winner, Cheryl Bowden are all in the field.

The LBAA ladies will be fishing Neely Henry for two days and with the champion to be crowned by the end of Saturday’s weigh-in.

Conditions for pre-fishing have been anything but ideal with snow, rain, and high winds being an issue for the last 10 days. At blast-off today, the weather conditions were the best they have been all week.  High’s are expected in the 60’s with plenty of sun and very little wind.

Top contender Pam Martin-Wells was quoted as saying, “We always know this time of the year, no matter what part of the country you are fishing, the weather can be a factor, but this week has been especially hard. The fish have been difficult to locate and the weather conditions have made it even tougher.  Thankfully,  it looks like we will get a break in the weather starting today. Let’s hope that will increase the amount of fish being brought in. “

Cheryl Bowden, 2012 LBAA Classic Champion, has been pre-fishing Neely Henry since last Saturday. After putting in only briefly yesterday for one last practice run, she expressed concerns on being able to “get on”  fish patterns due to the ever-changing  weather conditions. “Very few of the ladies have been bringing limits out each day.  The conditions have just been brutal. We hope that will change with the nice weather we are to get today. The challenge will be to see if any of our pre-fishing trends will hold up now that the weather is going to be significantly warmer,”  stated Bowden “

The ladies are on the water until 3pm this afternoon with weigh-in to start immediately afterwards at the Coosa Landing Marina.  Saturday afternoon, after two days of fishing, the LBAA will crown their first tour stop winners for 2013.
