Cabela’s Free Walleye Focused Weekend Celebration in Minnesota

Every year about 1.4 million Minnesota anglers hit the water to target the Minnesota’s most sought after fish; the elusive walleye. Each year in Minnesota there is roughly 3.5 million walleyes totaling 4 million pounds keep by anglers (MN DNR). Join Cabela’s in Owatonna, MN for a free weekend of hands-on, outdoor educational activities for all ages aimed at the many Minnesota walleye anglers.
This year Cabela’s has teamed up with The All Star Walleye School to bring a once in a life time look into the world of walleye fishing as Walleye Fishing Pros Brian “Bro” Brosdahl, Eric Olson, Bill Shimota, and Paul Meleen join forces to bring you the All Star Walleye Panel emceed by fishing legend Chip Leer! This event will be like nothing anglers have ever seen before and will to leave them with a higher level of fishing knowledge and skill that only panels like this can provide.
In addition, industry celebrities such as Babe, Kris, and Karlee Winkelman, Mark Fisher, Jason Mitchell, Chip Leer, Brian “Bro” Brosdahl, Bill Shimota, Eric Olson, Paul Meleen and Bob Jensen will be on-site holding seminars, signing autographs and sharing their knowledge in the Fishing Department. Further, several expert manufacturers’ representatives will also be in-store.
The National Professional Anglers Association will be on-site with their fishing pros to put on a youth fishing clinic. The kids fishing clinic is open to youth of all ages and skill levels. Prizes will be awarded to participants and all will be sure to have a great time and take away many great tips for the upcoming season.
Owatonna Cabela’s Power Sports Department will be hosting the 2nd Annual Boat Show which will feature many new and used models of boats to choose from to fit the needs of today’s walleye fisherman.
