Arkansas State University Takes Top Honors in Collegiate Shooting Sports Tournament

With support from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, one of the most competitive sporting events in the state is now available on the collegiate level. Earlier this month, the AGFC held the first Collegiate Shooting Sports Tournament.

Shooters competed in trap, skeet and sporting clays.

The tournament was held at the Blue Rock Gun Club in North Little Rock. A total of seven teams from five schools competed in the event.

Schools that competed included:

  • Arkansas State University-two squads
  • University of Arkansas-two squads
  • University of the Ozarks
  • Lyon College
  • Ecclesia College

Each team shot 50 rounds in each discipline of trap, skeet and sporting clays.

Final results of the tournament:

Trap

1st – Arkansas State University (Red squad)

2nd – Arkansas State University (Black squad)

3rd – University of Arkansas

Skeet

1st – Arkansas State University (Red squad)

2nd – Arkansas State University (Black squad)

3rd – University of Arkansas

Sporting Clays

1st – Arkansas State University (Black squad)

2nd – University of Arkansas

3rd – Arkansas State University (Red squad)
