Veteran bass pro Scott Bonnema has joined forces with All Creation Outdoor Media to handle promotions, sponsor and media relations. “This is an exciting partnership,” said Bonnema, of Zimmerman, Minnesota. “I’m looking forward to increasing promotions for my sponsors and the sport of fishing.”
A versatile and consistently successful competitor, Bonnema launched his tournament career in the 1980s in California, honing his skills on the Golden State’s legendary, tide-driven Delta and its deep, clear reservoirs. He returned to his home state of Minnesota in the early ’90s, expanding his expertise to northern natural lakes and river systems. His accolades include more than 60 top-ten finishes, including firsts at the 2011 TBF Northern Division Championship, Minnesota B.A.S.S. state championship, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Bass Classic, Minnetonka Classic and Midwest Pro-Am tour.
He also actively supports a number of charities, and is a longtime donor and board member of the St. Jude’s event, which has raised more than $1 million toward cancer research in the past 14 years. In 2012, Bonnema and partner Rick Pelletier were the top-fundraising team at the St. Jude’s tournament, contributing more than $20,000 to the cause.
In 2013, Bonnema plans to compete in a variety of venues, including the St. Jude’s Hospital Bass Classic, Cabela’s North American Bass Circuit and a number of other local and regional events. His sponsors include Humminbird, LakeMaster, Lew’s, Mercury Marine, Minn Kota, Ranger Boats, Rapala, Sufix, Trigger X and Simms.
“Scott’s not just a great bass fisherman, he’s a tireless promoter of the sport, and a champion of many great causes including faith-based youth fishing programs and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,” said ACOM’s Dan Johnson. “It’s an honor to represent this ambassador of bass fishing.”
Along with his personal competitive and promotional endeavors, Bonnema is also developing an integrated multimedia platform. He recently purchased the Minnesota-based Classic Bass website, and plans to organize a Classic Bass Invitational Tournament scheduled for late 2013. Updates on both entities will be announced shortly.
