High School Trapshooting Season Reaches Midpoint in Wisconsin

The Southeastern Wisconsin Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) High School Trapshooting conference has reached the midpoint of the 10-week season. Jefferson and Wilmot sit atop the varsity leaderboard with 5-0 records.

Completed the weather delayed week four scores were Badger who downed Waterford 116 to 108 behind Marc Hughes clean round and Burlington who bested Muskego 119 to 97 with four Demons shooting 24’s.

Jefferson stayed clean on the season with a 116 victory over the virtual score of 110. Cole Mewis shot his third 25 of the season to lead the Eagles to their fifth win.

Wilmot snuck past Waterford 112 to 111 to keep pace with Jefferson; Charlie Holst broke 24 for the Panthers while Sam Gultch and Brad Gabrhel had 24’s for the Wolverines who fell to 2-3.

Union Grove notched their first “W” of the year 107 to 96 over Muskego. Jacob Griph and Patryck Sandoval had 23’s for the Wolverines while Kevin Postler and Daniel Dembrowski carded 22’s for the Warriors.

Westosha Central blasted a 115 on the shoulders of Riley Bohr’s perfect round to down Racine Lutheran’s 103. Daniel Roeder, Bobby Tate and Clayton Steven’s 21’s led the Crusaders.

Lake Geneva Badger was lead by Joe Freeman’s 24 as they downed Oconomowoc 113 to 103. Dalton Dunham, Alana Nord and Mike Davy led the Cooney with a 21.

James McCroy carded a 25 for Milwaukee Marquette who topped the virtual score of 110 with a 114 in their match over Milwaukee Lutheran who is only fielding a JV squad this season.

Burlington shot the top score of the week with Jordan Hintz, Josh Grisham and Ali Knight each smashing 25’s in route for a 122 to 111 victory over Cudahy. Logan Balow and Andrea Turlick topped the Packers with 24’s

Winners in Junior Varsity were Burlington, Central, Badger, Waterford, Union Grove, Jefferson and Marquette. Henry Kurtzwell of Milwaukee Marquette and Jacob Borkowitz of Wilmot broke 24’s leading the Junior Varsity shooters. Cody McCarthy of Burlington and John Deitz of Central were top intermediate of the week also with a 24’s.

The teams of the SE WI SCTP Trapshooting Conference will be competing in the Burlington Invitational from April 25th to the 28th at the Burlington Conservation Club. Over 800 young athletes from six states are expected to participate in the 4-day event.
