To further the tradition and friendly rivalry between Team USA and Team England, a new shoot-off between the USA and England Open Teams will be introduced Saturday evening during the World English Sporting Clays Championship, concluding with the winning team being awarded a new perpetual trophy. Yanks vs. Brits is guaranteed to be an exciting shooting display with 10 of the top shooters in the world.
The event begins with a menu round and concludes with a nine-target flurry. The winning Team will be awarded the new du Pont Cup, a perpetual trophy named in honor of Hal du Pont, who contributed so much in the early years of Team USA.
Shooting for Team USA will be Jon Kruger, Wendell Cherry, Scott Robertson, Gebben Miles, and Bill McGuire. England’s team will include Chris Childerhouse, Ed Solomons, Richard King, Stuart Clarke, and Richard Bunning. Anthony Matarese, Jr. will be the event’s commentator.
Yanks vs. Brits will be Saturday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the National Shooting Complex Stadium. It is being presented by White Flyer. Sportsman’s Insurance Agency will be also sponsor a party at the Club House from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with cocktails, dinner, music, and door prize drawings.
