Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation 05.02.13
On April 30, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) hosted a sportsmen’s reception at the Beretta Gallery in New York City. The reception brought members of the bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), leaders of the sportsmen’s community and other conservation organizations, allied-industry groups and congressional staffers together for a night of camaraderie. During the event, attendees got a chance to tour the Beretta Gallery and visit with fellow sportsmen and women from the New York City area.
CSF President Jeff Crane gave opening remarks on current sportsmen’s priorities and introduced the evening’s speakers and honored guests, which included Senate Minority Leader and member of the CSC, Mitch McConnell and CSC Co-Chair, Representative Bob Latta. “Tonight we welcome two leaders on Capitol Hill, along with leaders from the hunting, recreational fishing and shooting communities to this beautiful gallery. This gallery serves as a great venue for tonight’s event, and we thank Beretta for welcoming CSF to New York City,” Crane stated.
Minority Leader McConnell toured the gallery and addressed the crowd on his commitment to sportsmen’s legislation and upcoming priorities he will carry in his leadership post during the 113th Congress. “I am grateful to be here at this great gallery and I thank Beretta for the opportunity. Legislatively speaking, this Congress presents a great opportunity to finish and pass a Sportsman’s Package. The huge economic impact of sportsmen’s activities in my home state of Kentucky is one example of how important this legislation is and I look forward to working in the Senate for all sportsmen and women.”
Representative Bob Latta applauded the venue and spoke to the group on his leadership position as the Co-Chair of the CSC. “Thanks to those of you here at the Beretta Gallery tonight for your work in protecting the great outdoors. As Co-Chair of the bipartisan CSC, my goal is to continue to protect these freedoms for this generation and the next.”
The reception was hosted by an array of industry leaders, including the following members of the CSF Board of Directors: Chairman, Bob Model of the Boone & Crockett Club, John Green of Crossroads Strategies, Walter McLallen of the Freedom Group, Jeff Paro of InterMedia Outdoors, Steve Sanetti of the National Shooting Sports Foundation and John Larkin of JC Larkin Company, L.L.C. Also serving as hosts for the evening’s reception was Simon Roosevelt of the Boone & Crockett Club and Gordon Whiting of Angelo, Gordon & Co., L.P.
The title sponsor for the event was the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The reception’s sponsors also included: ATK, the Beretta Gallery, Cabela’s, Richard Childress Racing, Safari Club International, Shimano, Sports South, L.L.C. and the Babaz Group.
