Massachusetts State IDPA Announces Smith & Wesson as Presenting Sponsor

The Springfield, Massachusetts based firearms maker Smith & Wesson will be the presenting sponsor of the 17th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, according to an announcement by the match organizers.
The 17th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, presented by Smith & Wesson, will take place June 1-2 at the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford in North Dartmouth. The match will feature a 10 stage course of fire with a 150 round count. It will also serve as the first leg of the newly announced King of New England contest.
“The name Smith & Wesson is near and dear to members of the Bay State shooting community. Throughout the years this American gun making icon has extended a helping hand to shooting clubs and matches, and we couldn’t be prouder to announce that our 17th Annual IDPA State Championship will bear the name Smith & Wesson,” said John Catterall.
“As a company headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, Smith & Wesson takes a great deal of pride in supporting the many local shooting competitions in which our own friends and neighbors compete. Considering our close working relationship with the Massachusetts IDPA members, we could think of no better way to express our appreciation for all they do than by sponsoring this year’s state championship,” said Paul Pluff of Smith & Wesson.
