Powers Pond Free Fishing Weekend Event in Oregon

The annual Free Fishing Weekend derby at Powers Pond is held June 8, 2013, not June 1 as reported in a recent ODFW news release. Following is corrected information:
Powers County Park, June 8 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The 23rd annual kids fishing derby is not held on Free Fishing Weekend this year and instead is on June 8. All license requirements apply. Kids 14 through 17 need a juvenile license while kids 13 and under do not. This annual event is geared to kids 16 and younger. There are prizes for largest fish in several age categories and young anglers can learn fish identification and try the casting contest. Call the Powers Ranger District for information, 541-439-6250
