is teaming up with Cabela’s King Kat tournament trail and the United States Catfishing Association (USCA) to maximize national interest in recreational and tournament fishing for “Mr. Whiskers.”

The three organizations will be pooling their resources to educate anglers about various catfish species and provide useful tips for locating and landing these hard-fighting game fish. Fishhound, the Web’s fastest growing online angling community and leading provider of real-time reports will also promote the latest tackle and accessories available for catfish enthusiasts through its Product Showcase and Field Testing Program.

“While everyone seems to focus on bass, catfish are right up there when it comes to popularity, notes Rick Patri, Fishhound’s vice president, operations. “They’re highly sought after by anglers all across the country, but they don’t get the same level of attention as their green cousins. We’re out to change that, however.”

According to Darrell Van Vactor, president and CEO of Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail, competitive catfishing events are attracting a whole new breed of angler to this fishery. “Participation in catfish tournaments is on the rise, and anglers are gaining a new-found respect for the size, strength and determination of these fish. Partnering with Fishhound will help us expand our reach and generate even more excitement.”

Paul Louderback, founder of the United States Catfishing Association, is looking forward to partnering with Fishhound to better serve those within the USCA and more effectively promote the sport of catfishing. “Our goal is to provide value to our more than 56,000 members and serve as a combat multiplier to other organizations interested in reaching this unique demographic of fishing,” said Louderback. “The Fishhound social movement is tremendous, and we’re excited to be a small part of their broad and commanding footprint.
