Michigan’s North Missaukee ORV Route and Trail Re-opened in Wexford County

Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials announced today that the bridge construction projects over Flower Creek and Chase Creek in northeastern Wexford County are complete. The North Missaukee ORV route and trail are reopened for use.

The two bridge projects were completed ahead of schedule. These new bridges will greatly enhance ORV riding opportunities in the area prior to the busy Fourth of July holiday. Both bridges are also critical structures for the snowmobile program. The DNR secured a grant from the Recreation Trails Program, a U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration program, for constructing these two bridges.

Questions about this project or the trail may be directed to Todd Neiss, DNR trails specialist, at 231-775-9727, ext. 6045. Information regarding other ORV/ATV riding opportunities may be found on the DNR’s website at www.michigan.gov/orvtrails.
