Arsenal Firearms’ Double-barreled 1911 Pistol to Begin Shipping to US in December

Though it is a relative newcomer to the firearm industry, Arsenal Firearms managed to grab some attention with its inaugural product line. In addition to its polymer-framed “Strike One” semiautomatic handgun, Arsenal is perhaps best known for its double-barreled, 1911-style pistol called the AF2011-A1 “Second Century.” Earlier in November, the company announced that its products had begun being delivered to international recipients.

Arsenal was previously unable to ship outside the European Union due to what the company called “a troubled European Union legislative change effective in late July and the deriving blockade of gun exports outside the UC.” Arsenal stated that manufacturers had been working with the Italian government towards a solution that would allow gunmakers to ship outside the EU by the end of November.

The news release stated that shipments of the Second Century to the United States should begin in early December, and that the pistols will be imported through EAA Corporation of Cocoa, Florida. The release added that the Strike One is currently on Conditional Import status with the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

To many American gun enthusiasts, the odd double-barreled incarnation of John Browning’s timeless classic steals the new-import show. Those lucky enough to have attended the 2013 Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show earlier this year had a chance to appraise the firearm personally. Arsenal’s Second Century is deceptively simple and works much like two separate 1911s firing side by side. There are two triggers, two barrels, two (attached) magazines, and one grip.
