Video: GoPro Camera Puts You in the Shoes of Shark Bait

A GoPro camera, some bait, and a boat was all that was needed to make this short horror film. The mako shark featured in this video appears to be a younger specimen, but it sure doesn’t mind taking advantage of the fish buffet laid out in front of it. The boat was moving at around six knots (roughly seven mph), an almost sluggish speed for mako sharks. The species is actually considered the fastest of all sharks, recording speeds of up to 46 mph in short bursts. Mako sharks are very agile and very strong, which makes the species popular among saltwater anglers.

According to the video’s description, the footage was taken near Ocean City, Maryland on Independence Day. The camera used is a GoPro Hero 3.
