Winchester Repeating Arms is expanding its line of historical rifles with the new Model 1885 Hunter Rimfire single-shot. This low-wall rimfire edition of the 1885 rifle is available in .22 Long Rifle, .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR), .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire (HMR), and the new .17 Winchester Super Magnum.

The 1885 Hunter Rimfire measures 40 inches, weighs 7.5 pounds, and features a checkered walnut pistol grip stock and Schnabel-style forearm with an oil finish for a timeless look and feel. Its 24-inch octagonal barrel is button rifled for outstanding accuracy, and comes with a semi-buckhorn rear sight and a Marble Arms gold-bead front sight to get you on target quickly. Its receiver and barrel have a blued-steel finish, and it’s drilled and tapped for scope mounting.

The 1885 rifle is also fitted with a Pachmayr rubber buttpad for nonslip shooting, and its curved blued steel finger level is comfortable and smoothly activates the rifle’s steel falling breechblock for loading and ejection.

  1. I have a sorrow feeling that the 17 Win. Super Mag. may become a thing of the past due to the fact there is no ammo available for it. I would really hate that to happen since this is a true work of art.

  2. Come on! Post the expected retail price for the rifle. Its nice and a fine weapon but rimfires are not the big dollar weapons.
