Traditions Media, an established provider of fishing-focused public relations and marketing services, has announced the hiring of Josh Lantz as a contract PR and Media Support Representative, bolstering the group’s progressive style of media communications.
A 20-year veteran of the outdoor communications industry, Lantz will focus on generating brand awareness for Traditions Media’s expanding stable of clients offering hunting and shooting sports-related goods and services. Like the rest of the Traditions Media team, Lantz is a lifelong angler, having worked as a professional fishing guide to help support and add value to his communications work for the last 15 years. And Lantz is equally comfortable with a bow in his hands or gunstock pressed into his shoulder.
“Josh is a great fit for our company,” says Traditions Media President, Noel Vick. “Our team is successful in our work because we live what we write about… you can’t fake experience,” he continues. “Our people spend a lot of time on the water and in the field, and that firsthand knowledge and expertise provides the foundation for the unique value we pass on to our clients.”
Successful self-employment in the outdoor industry requires solid work and diverse skills. Over the past several years, Lantz has worked as a contract magazine editor, freelance outdoor writer and photographer, public relations specialist, and copy and content writer. As a video editor, producer and videographer, Lantz has written and edited over 200 episodes of outdoor television for national broadcast. Additionally, he has served the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) as the organization’s part-time Executive Director since 2010 – a labor of love he will continue to fulfill while providing service to Traditions Media. “AGLOW is a special organization filled with great people,” says Lantz. “These folks are my heroes, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve them,” he concludes.
Lantz is proud to lend his pen to a company he has long admired. “I’ve known the Traditions Media for many years and have a great appreciation for the art behind their unique style of communications,” he offers. “As an editor, I run Traditions’ material on a regular basis because of the quality of the writing, imagery and video,” says Lantz, who claims he can actually smell fish on every Traditions Media press release and feature he receives. “Noel and his writers really are pioneers, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be working with and learning from them,” he continues. “But they really need to consider incorporating some antlers into the company logo.” (Well, Lantz, stranger things have happened.)
Lantz lives in New Buffalo, Michigan with his seven-year-old son, Jack, his eleven-year-old daughter, Emma, and silver lab, Kona. His work with Traditions Media commenced January 1, 2014.
