February is turning out to be an especially dangerous month for snow sports enthusiasts this year. In the past several days, avalanches in Western states have claimed at least six lives. Luckily for snowmobiler Cody Strong, he will not be joining that list.
According to GrindTV, Strong was riding with friends in St. Elmo, Colorado when he was struck and buried by a sudden avalanche. The force of the snow was so strong that it threw his snowmobile into a tree and totaled it. Not surprisingly, Strong says he is lucky to be alive.
