Video: Zebra Escapes Lion Ambush

In Africa, it seems nothing is more dangerous than crossing a body of water. Whether it be crocodiles, angry hippos, or predators lounging near their favorite water hole, prey animals have to be alert when in the water.

Thankfully, most can find safety in the herd. This lone zebra, however, seems destined to be a meal when it walks into an ambush near a pride of lions. Luckily for the zebra, one of the large cats breaks cover too soon and allows its intended target to flee across the river.

Maybe the lions just weren’t that hungry.
