Video: Eagle Has a Good Time Playing Soccer

Where do eagles enjoy tossing around a soccer ball? Apparently Vancouver. The North Shore Football Club was holding soccer practice last week when the team was interrupted by large eagle landing and staking a claim to one of the balls. The bird then kicked it around and even jumped on it, but seemed to have little interest in scoring any goals.

“It was probably one of the most incredible things that I’ve ever seen. Just to be able to be that close, 20 feet from an eagle and to be able to watch it for two-and-a-half minutes was amazing,” Stuart Ince, club president, told The Vancouver Sun.

If it was looking for a tryout, though, Ince added that he was less than impressed with the eagle’s moves.

“It didn’t make the tryout. It was good in the air but it didn’t really have the ball skills we were looking for,” Ince joked.
