Video: Rowing Team Gets “Attacked” by Asian Carp

If you’ve ever spent time on or near an Asian carp-infested waterway, then it’s likely you’re well aware of the species’ unusual penchant for leaping out of water when startled. This has led to a number of entertaining videos of carp-on-human “attacks”, and some people are combining the fish’s jumping ability with bowfishing to make for an exciting carp hunting extravaganza. The video below, reportedly recorded at Creve Cour Lake in Maryland Heights, Missouri, shows what happens when a crew team rows through some very carpy waters.

Maybe we’re witnessing the foundation of a new rowing event, à la steeplechase. Asian carp rowing obstacles, anyone?
