Video: Black Bear Family Struggles to Use Hammock

These bears aren’t doing it right.

Carol Harrington of Washington, New Jersey got a shock two weeks ago when she discovered that her hammock was suddenly occupied by a black bear sow and her two cubs. The bears were having some trouble figuring out how the contraption works, so Harrington decided to record their efforts for posterity.

“They’re having so much fun though,” she said on the video.

According to NJ 101.5, the bears have been wandering around Washington Borough for some time. The bears do not seem to have much interest in raiding trash for a quick meal and have been more or less well-behaved. When faced with something interesting, however, the two cubs waste no time climbing all over the hammock like a jungle gym while mom watches on. Harrington reported that the hammock ended up surviving the encounter.
