Deer have a vertical jump of about eight feet, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t misjudge a leap sometimes. In fact, since deer have relatively poor depth perception, it means that they are more likely to jump either too early or too late. In this case, the buck seemed to have jumped the gun a little too soon and ran right into the wire fence.

At least if he ever wanted a hammock, he’ll know where to go.
