Video: Stubborn Hognose Snake Insists on Playing Dead

Hognose snakes are particular creatures with two main methods of self-defense: either they flatten their necks and pretend to be a cobra or they roll over and play dead.

When feigning death, hognose snakes will expose their bellies and leave their mouths open. If you try to flip the snake upright, the hognose will immediately spin around, as if to insist that it’s dead.
