One of arguably the best scenes from Terminator 2: Judgement Day was when Arnold Schwarzenegger—as the T-800 Terminator—flipcocks aand shoots a Winchester 1887 while on a motorcycle. It was stylish, it was practical…and it was also painful as well. According to rumor, Arnold initially mistook a different gun, larger gun for the 1887 and tried to flipcock it, nearly breaking three of his fingers.
Ouch. We’ll bet he made sure to ask the next time he tried that. It should be noted that the producers of the film later did procure real 1887, which was no mean feat as they were out of production at the time.
Now obviously, twirling a loaded firearm is not something that any sane person wants to be doing, so is the 1887 really meant to be flipcocked at all? Professional shooter and world record holder Jerry Miculek decided to recreate the stunt to see just how easy it was for the shotgun to be used this way.
The only thing that would have made the video better is if he did it from a motorcycle.
