Okay, we’ll admit it, this is pretty impressive. This angler apparently decided that he spent enough money purchasing soft lures and decided to make one himself, out of nothing but a simple drinking straw. However, to complete the lure, you’ll need to learn some fancy origami-style folding as well.
The homemade lure is especially effective for catching squid. Although squid fishing is not particularly popular in North America, there is a very passionate community of anglers dedicated to catching these strange-looking cephalopods. Jigs for squid fishing are usually custom designed for squids only, but we think this straw method can be used in a lot of applications—if you have the patience to nail it down.
What do you think? Is this something you would try?
