Video: Fishing with Rockets Fail

Not everything is better with rockets, and one of those things is fishing. Two Swedish “experimentalists” decided to test what kind of drag a rocket would have on a fishing line, but failed to realize that they are essentially attaching an erratic, speeding projectile to a length of nylon—that they’re holding.

Sure enough, the rocket didn’t go far before it caught and flew back in the direction of the caster.

“We are working on a cool drone video and we got this smart idea that tying rockets to a fishing rod would look cool.” wrote Stratolys on YouTube. “Instead it backfired and exploded on Johannes arm (he is okey). But at least it looked funny!”

If you ever find yourself wearing some kind of protective helmet to go fishing, you might want to reconsider what you’re doing in the first place.
