Buying your first gun might seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be.

Like any other consumer product, the first question to consider tends to drive the rest. What do you want it for? Are you looking for a gun for home protection? Recreation? Hunting? Concealed carry? These are the questions you need to think about before walking into your local gun store. Not even sure where you can find a store or local gun expert? The NRA has this online tool to find local firearms resources to help guide your decision.

Still not sure what you’re in the market for? These facts may help give you an idea.
