Video: Hooked Mako Shark Jumps more than 10 Feet Out of the Water

It’s a cool sight to see a bass break the surface after you hook it. Now imagine a 500-pound mako shark taking flight!

This mako was out to prove just how tough it was after being hooked by a San Diego fisherman. The mako shark is the fastest shark in the ocean, capable of reaching speeds of up to 60 mph. In this video, it looks like it’s competing for the high jump, too.

This toothy torpedo shoots out of the water more than 10 feet in the air, almost showing off for the fishermen, and then breeches right next to the boat.

Now that’s adrenaline you can’t find fishing on a lake!
