‘The Native Howl’ Is Not Like Your Grandfather’s Favorite Bluegrass Band

Sometimes when you mix two very different sounding types of music, you get a very pleasant surprise.

Meet “The Native Howl,” a band that combines bluegrass and heavy metal and turns it into their own unique sound. Call it “thrash grass.”

A little banjo music, a little shredding guitar, this Michigan-based band is everything but ordinary! It’s like a mix of heavy metal with a little country twang.

If you’re tired of the same old sounding music you hear on the radio, check out the music video for their hit song “Thunderhead” below; these mad men from the mitten rock!
