The Strut is Definitely On as it Rains Turkeys in Indiana

When a big tom turkey crashed through the windshield of the Taraboczhia family’s rental car, Capt. Michael Kellems of the LaPort County Sheriff’s Office said, “I’ve been a policeman for 31 years and I’ve never seen something like that.”
Well, he only had to wait a day before witnessing another dive-bombing turkey. The very next day, a second turkey smashed through the windshield of Indiana State Police Trooper Tia Deaton while driving down S.R. 56 near Scottsburg.

Call it what you want, but just a few short days later, yet another turkey flew into another windshield of a State Police car. This time, state trooper Aaron Weller was behind the wheel and was driving along the Indiana Toll Road in LaPorte County.
You could say it’s just dumb luck, but we call it turkey season. Birds are out eating, mating, and clearly aren’t afraid of moving vehicles. Be safe out there this time of year!
