Throwback Thursday Video: Rescuing the ‘Bucket Bear’

Black bears will eat just about anything, and chances are good this Yogi was trying to get something delicious from this bucket when its head became stuck.
And just like Winnie the Pooh often relied on his friends to get him unstuck from a honey jar, this black bear in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, needed help, too.
As this story explains, the bucket wasn’t a bucket at all. It is what’s known as a maxi, which is an object with a metal rim that provides cushioning between a tractor and trailer. As you’ll see in the video below, it’s the metal part that was so difficult to cut.
Congrats to these guys for freeing this young black bear. Judging by their camo clothes, the men are hunters who stepped up when they were needed the most.
