New South Dakota Common Carp State Record & Possible New Fly Fishing World Record
OutdoorHub Reporters 05.12.17
A SoDak man by the name of Kurt Gutormson caught a pig of a carp that is already a new state record, but is also in the process of becoming a new fly fishing world record!
When you’re talking about a world record fish . . . even with a fly rod . . . you know it has to be big, and this fish certainly won’t disappoint you.
The Common Carp, which Kurt caught using a fly rod, weighed in at 43-pounds, 2-ounces. Kurt was fishing Lake Poinsett when he hooked into this beast, and on a fly rod, it must have felt like he was battling a Chevy Silverado!
Nice catch Kurt, fish on!
