The Maine Warden Service is seeking information in connection to the report of a deer killed on the morning of Thursday, July 20 on the Pooler Road in Pittsfield. Evidence at the scene suggests that a deer was killed in a cornfield and dragged to the road and then loaded into the suspect’s vehicle. After collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses, it is believed that the deer was killed between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. The vehicle involved is believed to be a darker colored, 1990’s model, boxier style extended cab truck. The truck may have a longer bed and a louder than normal exhaust. We are asking anyone with information to please contact the Maine Warden Service by calling Maine OGT at 1-800-ALERT-US (1-800-253-7887 – you can remain anonymous) or Public Safety Dispatch in Augusta at 207-624-7076. Maine Operation Game Thief (OGT) offers rewards for information and tips leading to the conviction of fish and game violations.
