Best Bait Shop in the Land of 10,000 Lakes

As a lifelong resident of Minnesota, and a diehard angler for more than 45 years — with 5 of those working as a fishing guide — I’ve certainly spent my fair share of time in bait shops.
So, when I ran across a story naming Full Stringer Bait and Tackle in Longville as the “Best of Minnesota,” I simply had to read it.
Apparently, WCCO (CBS) in Minneapolis is asking its viewers to vote on a variety of topics, and when it comes to bait shops, Full Stringer is best of the best.
As you’ll learn in the story/video below, John and Lacey Ferris (below) bought this bait shop a couple years ago, but it’s the improvements they’ve made — from the building itself; to the quality of bait, tackle and other gear; to the customer service — that has really turned heads in the area.
I certainly plan to stop and visit Full Stringer Bait and Tackle the next time I’m in north-central Minnesota. I very much like to support small local businesses, especially when a purchase comes with free fishing advice on area lakes.
Note: Even if you live on the other side of the country and are sure that you travels will never lead to Longville, Minnesota, you can still purchase some cool items from Full Stringer Bait and Tackle online. From hats to hoodies, this bait shop offers a lot more than just fresh crawlers, leeches and minnows.
