Friday Escape: Drone Video of Alaska’s Amazing Bristol Bay Lodge

One of the best summers I ever spent was in 1992, working as a fishing guide at the amazing Bristol Bay Lodge in western Alaska. Yes, that’s me in the blurry print below hoisting a king salmon from the Togiak River; as I recall, it tipped the scales at 58-60 pounds.

I recently ran across a Facebook video showcasing many of the epic views surrounding the lodge. Note: BBL has a few exclusive outpost tent camps, so anglers will experience the luxury of the lodge itself, as well as life in the wilderness (trust me, it’s still very comfortable).
