Video: Thousands Evacuate Following Massive Explosion at Ukrainian Ammo Depot

A massive explosion at a military ammunition depot forced thousands to evacuate in central Ukraine, the Independent reports.

Right now, the cause has not yet been determined, however, according to the Independent, the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman claimed “external factors” influenced the incident.

Because the explosion occurred at a military base tasked with housing an extraordinary amount of ammunition, it’s likely no foul play was a factor.

Reports say Ukrainian authorities evacuated some 24,000 people and also closed an airspace above the region where the explosion occurred.

The explosion happened at a military base near Kalynivka, which is roughly 168 miles west of Kiev, although as you’ll see in the video below, the blast could be seen in the sky from hundreds of miles away.
