Video: Sheriff Deputies Save 10-Point Buck from a Fence

As a Sheriff’s Deputy, you never know what your day will look like, but you can bet these two deputies certainly didn’t expect to have a 10-point buck pinned to the ground as they worked to free it from a fence.

The Michigan Quality Deer Management Association, (MiQDMA) shared Delta County Sheriff’s Office video on Facebook showing two deputies working with another man – the homeowner’s son – to free a buck from being entangled in a fence. (Be sure to turn up the volume for best viewing.)

The deputies were reportedly called to a residence in Bark River, Michigan – located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, just West of Escanaba – where they were greeted by the son, and the three men went right to work.

It took several clips with bolt cutters to free the deer’s antlers from the fence, but they eventually got it untangled.

The buck, probably a little stunned from the dramatic scene, continued to lay on the ground for a moment after being free, but then hops to its feet and trots off.

Good work, men!
