The FBI Defends Life-Saving Potential of Legally Armed Citizens in America

America was host to 50 active shooter events in 2016 and 2017 combined. Now, some have been led to believe that the firearm industry is to blame. Despite that criticism, an investigation ran by the FBI in April showed, in numerous occasions involving active shooters, that somebody was there and able to stop them by using a firearm.
“Armed and unarmed citizens engaged the shooter in 10 incidents. They safely and successfully ended the shootings in eight of those incidents,” the reports reads.
“Their selfless actions likely saved many lives. The enhanced threat posed by active shooters and the swiftness with which active shooter incidents unfold support the importance of preparation by law enforcement officers and citizens alike.”
Those are the final conclusions in the FBI’s study.
Ten of the active shooters in the study were confronted by citizens, and eight of them ended successfully, The Daily Caller reports. Of those, four were stopped by lawfully armed citizens, while the others were all unarmed – including one man who intentionally struck the shooter with his car.
“In one incident, a citizen possessing a valid firearms permit exchanged gunfire with the shooter, causing the shooter to flee to another scene and continue shooting.”
Who would have guessed? It seems these cowards prefer to target places where they won’t face a fight. . .
Still the narrative that “guns kill people” continues to be pushed.
Fortunately, we have strong leaders who still understand that Americans can (and should) be trusted to take responsibility for the safety of themselves, their loved ones, the communities with which they live in, and above all, the quickest way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
The FBI’s recent report attests those beliefs.
