SHOT Show 2019: Sig Sauer MPX Copperhead debuts at Sig’s Range Day

Last year SIG introduced the MCX Rattler in 5.56 and 300 Blackout. This year at the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) SHOT Show in Las Vegas Nevada, one of Sig Sauer’s new offerings is the MPX Copperhead in 9mm.

Pistol Stabilizing Brace collapsed on the Sig MPX

Having had the opportunity to shoot the Copperhead at Sig’s Range Day, I found it to be easily controllable and accurate out to the 15 to 25 yard distances set up for evaluation. The Copperhead was topped with a Sig Romeo Red Dot that made target acquisition fast and accurate. I was able to only fire about 20 rounds but the little gun ran flawlessly and felt recoil was negligible. Being both ultra-compact and lightweight (4.5 pounds) along with a stabilizing brace makes this package ideal for tight quarters.

The Sig Copperhead is available now at retailers and comes with one 20 round magazine. Optional 10 and 30 round magazines are also available. MSRP is $1835.
