SHOT Show 2019: Mossberg’s MC1sc hands on
Terry Nelson 01.22.19
Mossberg, probably best known for its pump action shotguns, has entered the concealment carry pistol market. At the 2019 SHOT Show their recently introduced Mossberg MC1sc subcompact striker fired 9mm pistol. The pistol is designed with concealment in mind that offers a slim single stack profile in a 3.4 inch barrel.
Four primary models of Mossberg’s MC1sc are available:
MC1sc Standard, MSRP $425
MC1sc Cross Bolt Safety, MSRP $425
MC1sc TRUGLO tritium Pro Sights, MSRP $526
MC1sc Viridian Laser Equipped, MSRP $514
A centennial model is also available with an MSRP of $686
Standard specifications and features for all models include:
–3.4 inch barrel length
–6.25 inch overall length
–1.03inch width
–19 ounces unloaded
–Trigger pull of approximately 6 pounds
–Ships with a 6 round flush fit and a 7 round extended clear count polymer magazine
–Safe action takedown system via the rear slide plate
–Reversible magazine release
–Trigger blade safety with one model offering an additional cross bolt safety
–Grip panels with integrated texturing
The MC1sc trigger has crisp reset and is comparable to other striker fired systems and the market. Handling this new Mossberg offering at SHOT Show Range Day, I found it to be a viable contender for an everyday carry gun with a slim profile adding to its appeal.
