Watch These Boat Racers Crash in the Riverland Dinghy Derby

When you’re racing dinghies at nearly 50 miles an hour in the Riverland Dinghy Derby, you better have some fast reflexes.

Every year, teams of two gather in the rural town of Renmark to take place in the “most intense dinghy race in Australia.” Armed with full-face helmets, one man steers the boat while the other rides up front, skipping across the Murray River at nearly 50 miles an hour!

Like we said, you better have good reaction time if you’re the one riding in the bow, because it only takes one mistake to send your boat hurling into the trees lining the narrow river.
